Malcolm Poynton, who has been serving as the Global Chief Creative Officer (CCO) at Cheil Worldwide for the past decade, is stepping down from his role. Poynton was appointed as the agency’s first-ever Global CCO in December 2014, with a mission to transform Cheil Worldwide into one of the world’s leading creative networks.

Under his leadership, Cheil Worldwide achieved remarkable success, including being named the WARC No. 1 Independent Network in 2021. The agency also secured multiple “Agency of the Year” titles across several countries, including China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, South Korea, Spain, and more, marking a decade of outstanding growth. As Poynton moves on, he is looking forward to spending more time at home in the UK and exploring new challenges.

Before joining Cheil, Poynton held prominent roles at SapientNitro Europe, Ogilvy UK, and Saatchi & Saatchi in Sydney. His work has consistently pushed boundaries, including leading Dove’s “Campaign for Real Beauty” and several high-impact campaigns across various global brands.

Cheil Worldwide has thrived during Poynton’s tenure, winning over 600 global and regional awards, including prestigious honors like Cannes Grand Prix, The One Show Best of Discipline, and multiple Effie Awards. The agency’s creative work continues to make a significant impact on the advertising industry worldwide.
